Coconut Oil For Acne - Does It Really Work?

Coconut essential oil is actually oil from mature coconuts. It's been used for meals for years and years, however, many individuals are unaware you can use it outwardly to battle acne breakouts along with other skin disorders, for example eczema.

Exactly how coconut essential oil treats acne breakouts

The concept that using oil on the pores and skin may help acne breakouts seems ridiculous in the beginning -- many people with acne breakouts wish to have less oil on the skin.

However it requires a lot more than extra sebum in order to trigger acne breakouts, and that helps to explain exactly how coconut oil can help with acne breakouts.

To get acne you'll need a couple of things: obstructed skin pores and irritation. It is irritation that turns obstructed skin pores in to red and angry acne. You get irritation whenever your immune system attacks the germs residing in obstructed follicles.

Coconut essential oil helps you to stop irritation, and hence additionally, it may stop acne breakouts.

The magic is in 2 essential fatty acids, lauric acid and capric acid. On the human skin they are changed into anti-bacterial and anti-viral ingredients. Simply put. Coconut essential oil eliminates the acne causing germs on the pores and skin. And with the germs eliminated there is nothing for your immune system to respond to. What this means is much less irritation and fewer acne breakouts.

Coconut is also full of e vitamin, which is a well-known pores and skin nutrient. Vitamin E helps you to calm irritation and fix scare tissue.

Therefore it does the same thing those costly skin lotions claim that they can perform.

Using coconut essential oil for acne breakouts

Here is how to use coconut essential oil for acne breakouts:

Using your favored facial cleanser clear your skin completely. Do not skip this task as it can certainly result in more breakouts!

Steam your face through placing a hand towel over your head and inclined on the bowl of warm water.

Massage a tiny bit of coconut essential oil on your face.

Wring away the facecloth in hot water and hang it over your face. This enables the actual essential oil to go deep into the pores and skin.

Wait for few minutes and wipe your face clean.

Using coconut oil this way likewise helps to eliminate acne scarring.

Amazing benefits internally

The actual amazing benefits associated with coconut essential oil aren't restricted to exterior use. It is also an excellent friend in the kitchen. Coconut (and its essential oil) not just tasted great, but it might help acne breakouts as well as your all around health.

It will help your body to battle Candida as well as yeast infections (each of which tend to be associated with acne). This reduces persistent inflammation helping to avoid blood sugar levels surges. Chronic inflammation and blood sugar levels shifts would be the primary causes of grownup acne breakouts.

Caution, not for everybody

Although numerous acne sufferers recommend coconut essential oil, it isn't for everybody. In some instances it may make your breakouts even worse.
It would appear that coconut oil may stimulate your skin glands to create more natural oils. This may trigger more acne breakouts for some people, and particularly if your follicles tend to be obstructed. This is exactly why you need to clear your face completely before you apply the essential oil.

Sadly there is no way to know ahead of time exactly how the skin responds. Therefore begins gradually and find out what goes on.

Not an end all and be all acne remedy

Coconut essential oil is by no means the be all and end all acne remedy. Make sure you remember that breakouts are an interior issue. Obstructed skin pores as well as acne are only a characteristic of much deeper problems (for example blood sugar levels shifts and persistent inflammation).

To conquer adult acne breakouts completely you have to consider an all natural method that can take into consideration your diet plan, way of life as well as psychological well being (tension).

Coconut essential oil won't resolve the main reason for acne breakouts, however it will help keep the acne breakouts in check as you correct the actual issues.

Coconut Oil Acne Treatment - Is it Good For Skin Acne?

When I decided to try a natural coconut oil acne treatment it was mainly down to the fact that the olive oil I was using in my oil cleansing method seemed quite thick and I wanted to see if coconut oil would be a good substitute.

Virgin coconut oil can be applied directly to the skin or taken orally, my experience was only in using it as a topical treatment. If you have used olive oil before then in comparison the coconut oil is much thinner and runnier!

So why can coconut oil be good for acne?

Coconut oil is made up of a large volume of lauric acid which is known for being very anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. These properties help prevent bacterial infections, which helps fight acne since one of the main causes are the bacteria Propionibacterium Acnes (P.Acnes).

A coconut oil acne treatment is also good for its cooling properties, which can relieve red and inflamed skin acne. It is also thought to resemble the natural oils produced by your skin and should be less likely to clog your pores. Since it is absorbed into the skin, it also offers more protection against the sun.

My experience with coconut oil acne treatment?

After a day or two I noticed that my skin seemed to be getting a little worse. However, this was the oil drawing the toxins and impurities out of the pore. The breakout didn't last long and cleared up after a couple of days.

I've had good results with coconut oil for acne but one oil wont work for everyone just like one acne treatment wont work for everyone. It's easy to try and if the initial breakout doesn't clear after a couple of weeks, then you may have an allergy or it just doesn't work with your skin type and you can stop using it and try something different.

How Treating Your Acne With Coconut Oil Will Bring Out Your Beauty With Moisturizing Bonus

It seems an oxymoron, using an oil to clear acne. This is not just any oil. Coconut oil has many beneficial properties. One being antibacterial. It absorbs into the skin, cleansing and moisturizing simultaneously. Cleansed pores are clean pores. The result is beautiful clear skin.
Being challenged with thinning hair and a pale complexion, my friend was hesitant to use coconut oil on his skin. Skin cancer had invaded his skin, keeping him from the health benefits of the sun.
His initial fear was "I might grow pimples". He began using it on his face and balding head.
The results were amazing! Not only did he not grow pimples. His skin is healthier and brighter. He has color now as if the oil circulated the blood to the surface. His wrinkles have softened. The minor ones have diminished. His head is also very healthy looking.
His technique truly amazed me. Every evening, he applies the oil like you would any lotion. Upon awakening, he simply splashes warm water on his face to rinse and wake up. That's it!
Yes, I have now adopted his technique.
How quickly will this oil clear my skin?
This varies according to the severity of the acne. Your overall diet and environmental factors.
Severe case that are genetic will take longer and using a radical approach. When possible, cover your face with the oil, using a generous amount but not dripping, using a hot cloth (not scalding, you dont want to burn yourself) lay back and let the oil penetrate deeply. It may be more convenient to have a few hot cloths near you. When the one cools down, change to a fresh hot cloth. Do this for 10 -15 minutes.
When finished, rinse with warm water and dry. It your skin feels good, leave it as is. You can apply a thin layer of the oil as you go about your day.
Do this treatment 3 times a week and measure your results.
For the occasional blemish to random mild outbreaks, you should have results within a few days. Just apply before bed and rinse in the morning. If a pimple begins to erupt, spot treat with the coconut oil. You may need to do this a few times.
How is your diet?
What we consume, inevitably shows in our appearance. From weight gain/loss to skin rashes and eruptions. The beauty of it, most of it is in your control. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables(organic when possible). Lean organic meat and poultry.
Eliminate all processed foods. These contain many preservatives and artificial ingredients that are not healthy.
Your lifestyle overall plays a role in skin health. Smoking, dusty and greasy working environments can cause havoc on our skin. The particles floating around embed into our skin bringing unsightly acne and blemishes.
The only possible side effect reported is a slight tingling sensation. This is from the friend mentioned above.
Remember, what goes in, must come out. This often show in our skin.

How to Find the Best Facial Cream For Dry Skin - Take These Simple Tips and Get Rid of Dry Skin

Are you one of the many, many people who suffer from of dry itchy skin, with skin that is flakey and perhaps stings or even cracks at places? I bet you can't seem to keep the dry skin away; it always comes back, perhaps only in the winter, or year-round, no matter what you do and which lotions you use for your skin!

If that's you, read on. I will share some tips on how to find the best facial cream for dry skin, as well as some other tips you might want to try, but the focus is on the facial cream.
The first thing to do is to take a look at what the moisturizer should contain, before going to the shop. There are lots of creams and moisturizers for dry skin on the market that actually can dry your skin even more, if you can believe that!

That's because they are filled with chemicals that have been put there to make the cream prettier, the consistency nicer, the shelf-life longer... NOT to make your skin feel better!

In fact, these promote more dryness and wrinkles if used for prolonged periods. Ingredients like alcohol, parabens and different kinds of dioxanes should be avoided as much as you can - these are potentially dangerous ingredients that definitely don't belong on your skin.
The alternative is to go all natural.

In my experience, the best dry skin facial creams, and all skin care in fact, is an all-natural product. That means no chemicals added! Look for a natural lotion for dry skin with ingredients that have been proven to be effective. There are a few natural ingredients that do wonders for dry skin; my tip is you look for creams with these ingredients in them:

  • Shea butter. Best used in a night cream, because it's very rich and takes some time to absorb into the skin. It's amazing for skin that is dry!

  • Babassu wax. It's great because it forms a kind of a barrier on the skin, enabling the skin to retain more moisture, thus making it well-hydrated
  •  Natural Vitamin E. This vitamin is especially good for older skin that is dry, as it's really powerful in fighting the signs of aging.
Once you find the best facial cream for your skin, make sure to use it regularly and your skin condition should start to improve. If it doesn't, you should continue your search until you really find a cream that works for you.

But don't forget other aspects of taking care of dry skin, either! Remember to drink enough water, take a daily multivitamin and perhaps an Omega-3 supplement. Combined with a skin care routine with superior products, you will certainly see changes on your skin in no time!
BONUS TIP!

Coconut Oil and Acne

Acne is a skin condition that shows up in the form of pimples, or cysts, usually on the face and back. Many teens suffer from acne due to hormonal changes during puberty. It's not uncommon for adult onset acne to occur later in life. Everyone is affected by acne at some point in their life, but what is the real cause and how can it be treated?

The sebaceous glands in our pores make sebum, an oil that lubricates the skin. However, if the sebaceous glands make more sebum than they should (usually during hormonal changes), the pores become clogged. The bacteria that gets trapped will turn into a pimple mainly because the open pore is allowing sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to get trapped under the skin causing a bacterial infection.

Coconut oil for acne is a great all natural treatment. Even though it's an oil, it will not clog the pores. It has many anti-properties making it a good thing for treating acne, which is a bacterial infection. Organic coconut oil is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial. The magic ingredient are the medium chain fatty acids which are very rare, giving the oil its anti-properties.

Coconut oil will help keep your skin healthy by ensuring proper functioning of the sebum glands to clear blockages. Daily use will also help heal acne scars as well. Not only is it good for treating acne and acne scars, it's also great for treating other skin conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, and eczema.

There are many benefits for the skin with its daily use.
Lauric acid is the medium chain fatty acid in coconut oil making it have many skin benefits. Around 60% of it contains lauric acid making it good for treating bacterial, fungal, and viral infections. The only other place on earth to find lauric acid in such high quantity is in human breast milk. This is the reason why I referred to it as being rare. You can get these benefits when used both internally and externally.

Organic coconut oil will protect your skin from getting a bacterial infection when applied topically and consumed regularly. What sets coconut oil apart from the other oils are the medium chain fatty acids vs. long chain fatty acids (found in other oils). These are the total opposite in that they are not easily penetrated by the skin and will clog the pores, without the very important anti-properties.

When using coconut oil for acne, you are starting the healing process. It will not clear up overnight. In fact, your acne may appear to worsen before it gets better. This is very common mainly because it is drawing out the toxins and bacteria to the surface, which will cause pimples to occur. Once all these toxins are drawn out, your acne will begin to clear up and heal.

There are many health benefits of coconut oil: for the hair, skin, anti-aging, skin infections, and systemic benefits. It can be used internally, externally, and through oil pulling. This method helps draw out the toxins in the body and is very good for dental and overall good health. You will be surprised to learn all the benefits of this miracle oil.

I'm a believer of Coconut Oil. I use it everyday for so many things. If you would like to learn more about the many health benefits of coconut oil, please visit my website:

[http://coconutoilbenefits4u.com] On my site, you will see all the health and beauty benefits, learn the many uses of coconut oil such as: aftershave, baldness, body scrub, birthmark, dandruff, deodorant, energy, diaper rash, fitness, body scrub, eye cream, gingivitis and gum disease, and many more. Coconut Oil For Acne

Coconut oil is oil from mature coconuts. It has been used for food for hundreds of years, but many people are not aware it can be used externally to fight acne and other skin conditions, such as eczema.

How coconut oil treats acne?

The idea that applying oil on the skin could help acne sounds absurd at first - most people with acne want to have less oil on their skin.

But it takes more than excess sebum to cause acne, and that helps to explain how coconut oil can help with acne.

To get acne you need two things: blocked pores and inflammation. It's inflammation that turns blocked pores into red and angry pimples. You get inflammation when your immune system attacks the bacteria residing in blocked skin pores.

Coconut oil helps to prevent inflammation, and hence it can also prevent acne.

The magic is in two fatty acids, lauric acid and capric acid. On the human skin these are converted into anti-bacterial and anti-viral substances.

To put it simply. Coconut oil kills the acne causing bacteria on the skin. And with the bacteria gone there's nothing for your immune system to react to. This means less inflammation and less acne.

Coconut is also rich in vitamin E, which is a well-known skin nutrient. Vitamin E helps to soothe inflammation and repair skin damage.

So it does the same thing all those expensive skin creams claim to do.

How to use coconut oil for acne

Here's how to use coconut oil for acne:
  • Using your preferred cleanser clean your skin thoroughly. Don't skip this step as it can lead to more acne!

  • Wring out a facecloth in hot water and drape it over your face. This allows the oil to go deep into the skin.
  • Wait for a minute or two and and wipe your face clean.
Using coconut oil this way also helps to get rid of acne scars.

The goodness of coconut oil is not limited to external use. It's also a great friend in the kitchen. Coconut (and its oil) not only tasted good, but it can help acne and your overall health.
It helps your body to fight Candida and yeast infections (both of which are linked to acne). It soothes chronic inflammation and helps to prevent blood sugar spikes. Chronic inflammation and blood sugar swings are the main factors behind adult acne.

Warning, not suitable for everyone

Though many acne victims swear by coconut oil, it's not for everyone. In some cases it can make your acne worse.

It seems that coconut oil can stimulate the skin glands to produce more sebum. This can cause more acne for some people, and especially if your skin pores are blocked. That's why it's important to clean your face thoroughly before applying the oil.

Unfortunately there's no way to know in advance how your skin reacts. So starts slowly and see what happens.

Not an end all and be all acne treatment

Coconut oil is by no means a be all and end all acne treatment. Please keep in mind that acne is an internal problem. Blocked pores and pimples are just a symptom of deeper issues (such as blood sugar swings and chronic inflammation).

To get over adult acne permanently one has to take a holistic approach that takes into account your diet, lifestyle and emotional health (stress).

Coconut oil will not solve the root cause of acne. But it can help to keep your acne under control while you correct the underlying problems.

Skincare Tips

Start a good routine when you are YOUNG! You will give yourself the best opportunity possible for healthy skin long into old age.

If you want beautiful skin, it is so important to have a good skincare ROUTINE. That means doing the same thing on a regular basis. It's like anything worth having, you have to stick with it and repeat the process over and over in order to see results.

A person with a good routine is one who knows how to cleanse properly, hydrate thoroughly and exfoliate with the appropriate product for their skin. A few basic tips are listed below, but it's best to obtain the opinion of a professional who has done a thorough skin analysis for you. The result should be a customized regimen of products and care that are unique to you and your concerns.

Cleanse - use a dime size amount of cleanser, mix with water, and apply with gentle circular motion all over face, neck and décolleté. Spend about a minute doing this, leave on for 30 seconds (let the cleanser do it's job) and then rinse WELL with tepid water.

Exfoliate - 2-3x/week depending on your skin type.

Hydrate - using serums and moisturizers - day and night and more depending on your skin type. You want to keep your skin hydrated. It is the single most important step to having healthy supple skin. If you have a few minutes, spend some time moisturizing and massaging your face and neck. This stimulates circulation, helps muscle memory and penetrates products deeper into the skin. Remember to always use upward strokes.

Eyes - Gentle, Gentle, Gentle around the eyes. The eye area consists of the thinnest skin on your entire body. Use your ring fingers to apply your moisturizer around the eye. Gently dab and lightly circle the eyes.

Get on the right products for your skin. I wish I had a quarter for every person who told me they were a "sensitive" skin type or an "oily" when they were not. They had symptoms that needed to be treated, but were not classified in those categories. If you think your an oily and you use products for oily skin, they could be too harsh for your normal skin that just has some excess oil. That is why you want to work with a skincare professional. Same with all the other skin types.

Yes, you can do it -- look better, feel better, & raise your self-esteem by getting rid of your acne cheaply, naturally & for lovely. While most forms of acne are merely troublesome or embarrassing, there's some forms of acne that can lead to scarring & pitting of the skin.

When you wash your face use a soft touch, taking care not to rub or scrub your skin.

Specialists cannot agree on what causes acne. Acne, zits, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads & plenty of other skin disorders are usually, but not always, the result of a bad diet. I think the reason for acne is related to our acidic, inflammatory 'standard American diet' (SAD) & that would also influence all of our hormones including stress hormones.

There's lots of natural acne home remedies; you may must try several to find that works best for your skin type. Shave carefully & try both electric & safety razors to see which works best for you. For the best acne treatment, which has worked for plenty of, apply virgin coconut oil to the area daily; try it on a tiny check area for a day or first.

Besides acne, in case you also have eczema or dry skin, coconut oil will treat those skin conditions . Most commercial cleansers are harsh on the face & looking for the right for you could cost a fortune. You need to keep away from squeezing, pinching, picking or popping your pimples because it may cause scars or leave dark spots on your skin.

It's always best to seek non-invasive & natural treatment for any skin condition. Treatment with raw apple cider vinegar will work better on your skin if it is not already noticeably irritated from acne medicines, acne products or other failed treatment. No over-the-counter creams can help your acne from the inside out; they can only kill a quantity of the bacteria on your face & help reduce the redness.

In any case, no matter what skin or acne treatment you select, whether it is chemical, drugs, alternative, or natural methods, changing your diet alone will be the best treatment you can do for your acne & you'll accomplish overall lovely health in the system. Drink lots & plenty of pure, filtered water every day. Besides outside acne treatment it is even more important to work from the inside out .

Coconut oil is inexpensive; it is a lovely, cheap, natural home cure. Coconut oil is of the best, if not the best, treatments I have found for acne. Apply it every day, throughout the day if feasible & at bedtime. Get the unrefined, unbleached type found at health-oriented food stores like Whole Foods or Wild Oats or order it online.

Some alternative doctors recommend eating a raw clove of garlic every day for acne; you can chop up & add it to your every day salad! Whether you eat a natural diet of living fruits & vegetables or eat dead junk food, what you eat may have a direct or indirect affect on the male hormones which may or may not play some part in acne.

Eating fruits that are red or orange in color will help improve you skin health & help to prevent acne. Eat high-fiber snacks like raw nuts, raw seeds, fresh or dried fruit, such as dates, & figs. Use olive oil with a small fresh flaxseed oil in your salads.

Drink lots of pure, filtered water, a maximum of a quart a day. Eating foods with essential fatty acids are important to people with dry skin or acne.

Now you don't must be of the unfortunate ones left behind because of a lack of knowledge. & you ought to be able to get rid of your acne, zits & pimples & their signs so it doesn't reoccur. There's lots of acne products on the market today, some are lovely, some are cheap & some are not lovely or cheap; no knows but you what will work for you.

What You Need to Know About Coconut Oil For Acne

Acne vulgaris (commonly known as acne) is a skin disease that causes tender red bumps on the face, neck, chest and/or back due to clogging up of hair follicles under skin.

Anyone can get acne; however teenagers and young adults are more susceptible to developing acne than middle-aged and old people. This is mainly due to hormonal changes that take place at puberty and pregnancy, which in turn aggravate sebum production.

Sebum is an oily secretion that is secreted by sebum glands in the skin to keep it moist. Increased oil production clogs the pores, causing clogged hair follicles to gradually enlarge and produce pimples.

Enlargement of follicles may rupture cell wall, allowing normal skin bacteria to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. Playing with or popping pimples nearly always causes bumps to inflame deeper into the skin, causing scars on the affected area.

Acne scars on the face have devastating long-term effects on the psychological health of an individual.

Clinical depression, certain anxiety disorders, and social phobia are common psychological problems among many adolescents suffering from acne. People with scars tend to lose self-confidence and develop low self-esteem, which adversely impacts their lives. Dissatisfaction with appearance can make them introverted and shy. Many intend to hide themselves from crowded places.

Numerous treatments are available which can slow down the progression of acne pimples and aid in the healing of acne lesions. Application of coconut oil on the skin has been shown to heal acne scars and rejuvenate the skin. Coconut oil consists of vitamin E, vitamin K, lauric acid, capric acid, palmitic acid, caprylic acid, myristic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and gallic acid. These medium chain fatty acids provide energy to the mitochondria in the skin cells, which causes small scars caused by acne to heal quickly.

Coconut oil makes a rich source of vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that helps repair and protect your skin. Antioxidants neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals, which are molecules that damage collagen, and cause fine lines and wrinkles. Numerous researches have revealed that vitamin E speeds up cell regeneration, thus creating an anti-aging effect. As vitamin E can easily be absorbed by the epidermis layer of the skin, it speeds up the natural healing process of the skin cells.

Lauric acid is an anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial agent that adds an extra protective acid layer on the skin, thus preventing the progression of the acne pimples. Oleic acid helps improve the rate of metabolism, which in turn regulates hormonal balance and thus reduces the likelihood of acne recurrence in teenagers.

Coconut oil makes an excellent moisturizer for all types of skin especially dry skin. It acts as an emollient for your skin as it is rich in fatty acids, providing a soothing and softening effect. More importantly, it doesn't have any adverse side effects on the skin; therefore it is far better than those products on the market that claim to deliver miraculous results in a few days.

Procedure for applying coconut oil for acne scars is very simple. All you need to do is to apply a small amount of oil to your affected area and massage it into your skin for a few minutes. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes so that the nutrients in the coconut oil can deeply penetrate into your skin to deliver the results they are famous for. After the time is up, rinse off with lukewarm water to remove any residue left behind.

How to Use Coconut Oil for Acne Treatments?

Coconut oil has been used for centuries to cleanse, protect and heal skin. It is rich in fatty acids that are beneficial for skin, contains many vitamins and protective elements, and is useful for so many hair and body treatments.

SPF Factor

Coconut has an SPF factor of approximately 4 which has made it popular not only as a traditional skin application in tropical parts of the world, but also for use in tanning and sunscreen products. It's antibacterial and moisturizing properties also make coconut oil for skin one of the emerging favorites for use in the treatment of acne.

Antibacterial & Cleansing Properties

Studies show coconut not has fantastic antibacterial properties but cleanses and moisturizes skin all at the same time. The fact that it is non greasy but highly effectiveness in removing oil and impurities like black heads on skin makes coconut oil for face masks and skincare products an increasingly popular choice of ingredient in skincare brands.

There are many acne treatments that are designed to treat oily or teenage skin. Many of these foaming or oil reducing face wash products on the market contain degreasing agents that strip skin of moisture and contain ingredients like synthetically produced salicylic acid, or chemical-based ingredients to target acne bacteria. These ingredients can be harsh and very drying for your skin. Many people also have reactions or sensitivities to some of the preservatives and chemicals and acne washes.

Hormonal Skin

If your acne has been caused by hormonal or environmental issues and you don't have oily teenage skin, these products may not suit your skin, especially if it is dry or mature.

This is a where coconut oil comes to the rescue. Coconut oil face masks, serums and washes are not only so easy to make, but are full of beneficial ingredients to not only rid skin of harmful acne bacteria, but also moisturize, heal and protect your skin from future breakouts, hormonal imbalances and acne scarring.

Coconut oil acne face masks combined with other antibacterial ingredients like turmeric powder, strawberries, tea tree oil, lavender oil or neem oil and honey all of which have powerful antibacterial and antimicrobial properties to fight acne at its source.

Essential Oils & Coconut Oil For Acne Recipe

Making a coconut oil face mask can be as simple as combining half a cup of pure cold pressed coconut oil melted gently at slightly above room temperature with a tablespoon of honey, a tablespoon of yogurt, half a teaspoon of turmeric powder and optionally a few drops each of Teatree and Lavender oil. You can use lemon juice if your skin is slightly oily or a little vinegar but only a half a teaspoon is necessary.

Don't worry if you don't have Teatree or lavender oil, these are optional but if you want to make an extra potent coconut oil for acne mask these ingredients really boost the effectiveness of this recipe. Teatree and Lavender oil are great to have around the house for treating cuts wounds or bites. Teatree is antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral and antimicrobial and the lavender oil soothes inflamed, red or itchy skin with added antibacterial properties.

Salycylic acid (as I mentioned earlier is used in acne washes) is very effective for acne treatments but can be found in willow bark and strawberries rather than chemical or synthetic form. Why not add some mashed strawberries or willow bark powder to a homemade coconut oil face mask instead?

Spray Cleaner

You can even make a spray cleaner by adding just a few drops of these oils to a half a cup of water in a spray bottle with a squeeze of lemon juice for an effective grease and bacteria eliminating household cleaner (you can save yourself lots of cost on chemical cleaners).

Coconut Oil For Acne Recipe Part 2

For use in the face mask mentioned above, combine all ingredients and apply to skin for ten minutes before washing off. Use this mask 2 to 5 times a week to treat acne, calm redness, and heal skin with the moisturizing and nourishing benefits of coconut oil.

Coconut oil can also be used either on its own or in combination with essential oils other base oils as a serum (or add beeswax and water /aloe vera to make a moisturizer) or if your skin is dry you can add a little evening Primrose oil to moisturize your skin and help to balance hormones.

Coconut oil for acne wash: melt a little coconut oil by rubbing a little on your hands, add a little sugar (for exfoliation if you wish), and a teaspoon of honey. Rub gently into your skin using small circular movements. If your skin is oily add a tiny squeeze of lemon or orange juice. You can prepare this recipe in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Choosing A Brand

Make sure you choose a cold pressed extra virgin variety that has not been heat treated - and that is preferably organic and Hexane free (to avoid chemical processing or pesticide contaminants). You can also use Coconut for cooking as its can be heated to a high temperature without burning and contains numerous benefits for digestion, mental acuity and many more internal health benefits.

Conclusion

These just a few ways you can use coconut oil for acne and other skin benefits. This pure natural ingredient is truly a wonderful product for all skin types and skin care routines. Not only is coconut oil a fast absorbing moisturizer which can be combined with many other light highly nourishing oils for your skin, but can also be added to many treatment recipes to calm and inflamed acne infected skin, eczema - or simply used just as an every day ingredient in your everyday skin routine.

There are many recipes you can make that use coconut oil as one of their key ingredients to target specific goals you want to achieve whether it be to repair or just soften and rejuvenate skin. Coconut is truly one of my favorites on my list of must have natural homemade skin care and mask recipe ingredients.
